Meet Courtney
Three years in, completely hooked on the game — and now the person who brings it to your table.
Hello
A player first, a teacher second.
Courtney has been playing American mahjong for over three years — long enough to fall completely for the game, and to learn exactly how to bring someone new into it without overwhelming them. She recently moved to the Backcountry neighborhood in Highlands Ranch, and now teaches across South Denver, coming to homes with everything the table needs.
Her way of teaching is simple: warm, hands-on, and unhurried. You'll be playing within the hour, and you'll never feel tested. The point was always the people around the table — and that's still the part she loves most.
Off the table
The rest of her table.
When the tiles are away, Courtney's table is still a full one. She's mom to three — a four-year-old boy and twin 18-month-old girls — plus Cannoli, the five-year-old Lagotto Romagnolo who supervises everything. Her husband Darren — a Brit, and the one whose company built this very site — keeps the house running on tea and good humor.
Mahjong, she'll tell you, is just that same instinct on a smaller table: gather the people you love, and play.
Teaching mahjong is really just an excuse to get a few good people around a table — and watch them click.
The Mahjong Standard way
Come and play.
Book a lesson and Courtney will bring the whole table to your home. No experience needed — just gather your people.
